Taylor Oh Taylor

Our fourth episode was out earlier at 8 pm.

Taylor Swift's presence seems to be everywhere lately. It's amusing how my daughter didn't realize she knew a few of her songs until events started cropping up all over the place, like the Eras Tour Light and Water Show, Architectural Light-Up, and The Eras Tour Trail. As we got involved in these activities, which included trading bracelets, my daughter grew increasingly eager to attend the concert. She even shed a few tears over it. However, given the steep prices and the challenge of obtaining tickets, we opted for an alternative plan: visiting the Singapore National Stadium.

Our visit coincided with the week leading up to the final day of the show, which was when we decided to go. My daughter enthusiastically prepared friendship bracelets for trading, making at least two every night. Her excitement was contagious, and despite our ticket situation, I couldn't help but share in it. I spent hours scouring ticket websites, hoping for a last-minute sale or a drop in prices on third-party platforms. I yearned to surprise her with the news that we could indeed attend the concert in person. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our efforts had not paid off.

Nevertheless, we threw ourselves into the activities surrounding the venue: posing in a photo booth with Taylor's guitar, penning love letters to her, getting face paintings and hairstyles done, crafting friendship bracelets with fellow fans, and queuing up for merchandise. Although we couldn't make it inside the concert hall, being around the venue was still delightful. We caught snippets of Taylor's songs and joined other Swifties in singing along.

Despite her disappointment at not getting inside, my daughter handled it admirably. She expressed her frustration but also found comfort in the belief that there would be more opportunities in the future. This experience taught her the importance of proactive planning and managing expectations to avoid disappointment. So, did she truly become a Swiftie here, Summers?
